Monopoly Live: How It Works, the Odds and Where to Play

Evolution’s money wheel with a board game inside it, streamed live with a presenter: 54 segments, two Chance cards and a 3D Monopoly board for the bonus. Every casino below holds a full UK Gambling Commission licence and carries Evolution’s live lobby.

Six bets, six different prices. A bet on the 2 returns 96.23%; a bet on the 5 returns 91.30%, and the 1 that lands most often is priced in between. The segment table on this page is the only set of Monopoly Live stats that predicts anything.

Every casino here holds a UKGC licence, checked on the public register; the returns per bet are the figures Evolution publishes for the game.

The Best UK Casinos for Monopoly Live

14 of our fifteen ranked casinos carry Evolution’s live lobby, which is where Monopoly Live is streamed from; the one that does not is left out rather than listed with a game it cannot offer.

The columns are the figures each operator publishes for its live lobby: how many game shows and tables it carries, and the stake range at the live tables. Monopoly Live itself usually opens at the bottom of that range.

Open a row for the rating breakdown; a figure an operator does not publish is left blank rather than estimated.

How a Round of Monopoly Live Works

A money wheel, a presenter, and a board game that only starts when the wheel says so. Everything is decided before the wheel stops; the board is where the money is made.

  1. Place Your Bets

Six betting spots: the numbers 1, 2, 5 and 10, and the two bonus segments, 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls. You can bet on any combination. The betting window is about fifteen seconds.

  2. The Wheel Spins

54 segments: 22 pay the number 1, 15 pay 2, 7 pay 5, 4 pay 10, two are Chance, and four start the board game. The presenter spins the wheel and a flapper at the top decides.

  3. A Number Pays, Chance Hands Out a Card

A number segment pays that number to one, so a 5 pays 5:1. A Chance segment pays everyone at the table: either a cash prize on your stake or a multiplier that is carried onto the next spin, with your bets left where they are.

  4. Rolls Open the Board

If the wheel lands on 2 Rolls or 4 Rolls, everyone who bet on that segment goes to the 3D board. Houses and hotels are added to the properties first, raising their multipliers; then the dice are rolled, two or four times, and the token moves round the board collecting whatever it lands on.

  5. The Round Settles

Winnings land in the balance when the segment pays or the board round ends, then the betting opens again. There is no carry-over from one spin to the next except a Chance multiplier, and nothing you do between spins changes the odds of the next one.

The Wheel, Segment by Segment

This is the only table of “Monopoly Live stats” worth reading, because it is built from the wheel rather than from a history of results. Each spin is independent; the frequencies below are what the wheel produces on average over a long run, not what it will produce tonight.

Bet Segments Chance per spin Pays RTP How often, on average
Number 1 22 of 54 40.7% 1:1 92.88% About 2 spins in 5
Number 2 15 of 54 27.8% 2:1 96.23% About 1 spin in 4
Number 5 7 of 54 13.0% 5:1 91.30% About 1 spin in 8
Number 10 4 of 54 7.4% 10:1 96.02% About 1 spin in 13
Chance 2 of 54 3.7% Cash prize or multiplier Not a bet About 1 spin in 27
2 Rolls 3 of 54 5.6% Board round, two rolls 93.90% About 1 spin in 18
4 Rolls 1 of 54 1.9% Board round, four rolls 93.67% About 1 spin in 54
Payouts are on the stake. RTP per bet as published by Evolution; the chance per spin is the segment count divided by 54. Chance is not a betting spot, so it has no return of its own.
The 54 segments of the Monopoly Live wheel, grouped by bet54segments
  • Number 122 of 5440.7%
  • Number 215 of 5427.8%
  • Number 57 of 5413.0%
  • Number 104 of 547.4%
  • Chance2 of 543.7%
  • 2 Rolls3 of 545.6%
  • 4 Rolls1 of 541.9%
Segments grouped by bet to show the proportions; on the real wheel they are spread round the rim. The pointer is the flapper that decides each spin.

The four numbers cover 48 of the 54 segments, which is why most spins end with a small payout rather than a trip to the board.

The 1 alone lands on about two spins in five. It is also, unusually for a money wheel, one of the worst-priced bets on it: the 2 and the 10 return about 96% and the 1 only 92.88%.

Add the two Rolls segments together and the board opens on 4 of 54 spins, about once every thirteen or fourteen. The 4 Rolls segment on its own is once in 54, which at a round a minute is roughly once an hour.

Both are long-run averages; the gap between two board rounds is as likely to be two spins as twenty.

Chance and the Two Board Rounds

Chance

The presenter turns over a card. Either everyone with a bet down wins a cash prize on it, or a multiplier is applied to the next spin and your bets stay on the table for free. Two Chance multipliers in a row multiply together.

2 segments, no stake of its own

2 Rolls

The board round with two throws of the dice. Before the first throw, houses and hotels are dropped onto the properties and raise their multipliers; the token then moves twice, collecting the multiplier of each square it stops on.

3 segments, 93.90% RTP

4 Rolls

The same board with four throws, which is why its multipliers run higher: more squares collected, more chance of a double for an extra throw, and more chance of passing Go, which doubles everything gathered so far.

1 segment, 93.67% RTP

The Board Squares

Properties pay their multiplier, boosted by any house or hotel on them. Chance and Community Chest squares add a multiplier or a cash prize, the two tax squares take a share off the total, and Go to Jail costs throws until a double is rolled.

Every board round

What Each Bet Costs

Evolution publishes a return for each of the six bets, and the spread between them is wider than on any other wheel in its game-show range. The best bet is the 2, at 96.23%; the 10 is close behind at 96.02%. The 1, which lands most often, returns 92.88%, and the 5 returns only 91.30%.

From the player’s side the difference is the house edge: 3.77% of every stake on the 2, rising to 8.70% on the 5.

Over an evening of a hundred spins at a pound a spot, that is the difference between about £4 and about £9 expected cost per spot. On Crazy Time the same spread runs from £4 to £6.

What to Take From That

  • The 2 and the 10 are the cheap bets. They are the only two spots on the wheel that return more than 96%. The 1 lands more often, but every pound through it costs nearly twice as much over the long run.
  • The 5 is the expensive one. It is the only segment on either of Evolution’s big wheels that returns under 92%. Nothing on the board explains the price; it is simply where the game earns its margin.
  • The board rounds cost about 6%. 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls return 93.90% and 93.67%, which puts them between the number bets. They are the reason most people play, and they are not the worst way to pay for it.
  • Chance is already in the figures. Its cash prizes and multipliers are part of the published returns of the six bets, not a free extra on top of them.
  • Operators set their own payout cap. The maximum a casino will pay a player in one round is printed in the game’s information panel, and it is lower at some casinos than at others. Multipliers above the cap pay the cap.

Monopoly Live Results, Trackers and Stats

Search for Monopoly Live and much of what comes back is live results: trackers of the last hundred spins, how long since the last 4 Rolls, which segment is “hot”. It is accurate as history and useless as a forecast.

The wheel has no memory. A 4 Rolls segment that has not landed in two hundred spins is not due; its chance on the next spin is one in 54, exactly as it was on the first.

A run of five 1s in a row happens about once every ninety spins, which is often enough that you will see one most evenings.

What a tracker can legitimately tell you is the pace: how many spins an hour the table is running and how long the board rounds take, which decides how much of an evening is spent waiting.

For the odds themselves, the segment table above is the whole story, and it does not change.

The same point is made at more length on our Crazy Time page, where the wheel has eight spots and the belief in “due” segments is just as common.

Monopoly Live Is Not Monopoly Casino

Two different things share the name, and searches for one land on the other all the time.

Monopoly Live is a game: an Evolution live game show, streamed from its studio under licence from Hasbro, and carried in the live lobby of most UK casinos that take Evolution’s games. Every casino in our table above offers it.

Monopoly Casino is a casino: a UK-licensed operator brand built around the same licence, with its own site, its own offers and its own range of Monopoly-themed slots. It is not in our table, and this page does not review it.

If you came here for the game, read on. If you came here for the casino brand, its own site is the place to look; nothing on this page describes it.

A third relative, Monopoly Big Baller, is Evolution’s bingo-style sequel from 2022: numbered balls instead of a wheel, with the same board game as the bonus round. Most lobbies that carry Monopoly Live carry it too.

Playing It Well, in Five Steps

  1. Check the Information Panel First

It has the return for each bet, the maximum payout your casino applies per round, and the stake range. The minimum stake at the live tables in our table runs from a penny to ten pence; Monopoly Live usually sits at the lower end.

  2. Decide the Stake per Spin, Not per Session

The cost is charged per stake, and a round comes every minute or so. Sixty spins an hour at £1 across two spots is £120 an hour through the wheel, whatever happens to it.

Set the deposit limit at the casino before you open the table.

  3. Pick Your Spots on Price, Not on Frequency

The 1 lands most but returns least of the numbers. The 2 and the 10 are the cheapest bets on the wheel; the board rounds cost about 6%. Which you choose is a matter of what you want from the evening, not of what the last fifty spins did.

  4. Read the Bonus Terms Before You Opt In

Live game shows are often weighted at 0% towards welcome-offer wagering, and some offers exclude them altogether. Playing Monopoly Live with a bonus open can mean the bonus never clears.

  5. Keep the Stream Honest

If the picture freezes during the betting window, do not re-bet blind; the round resolves whether or not you saw it. A wired or strong Wi-Fi connection matters more here than at a slot, because the fifteen-second window does not wait.

Monopoly Live Terms, in Plain English

AI Generated
Chance
One of two wheel segments that pay everyone at the table without a bet of its own: a cash prize on the stakes down, or a multiplier carried to the next spin with the bets left in place.
AI Generated
2 Rolls and 4 Rolls
The two bonus segments. Each sends the players who bet on it to the 3D board for two or four throws of the dice; the rest of the table watches.
AI Generated
Houses and hotels
Added to the properties at random before the dice are thrown. Each raises the multiplier of the square it sits on, and a hotel raises it most.
AI Generated
Doubles
Two dice showing the same number. A double earns an extra throw, which is how a 2 Rolls round sometimes lasts longer than its name.
AI Generated
Passing Go
If the token gets all the way round the board and past the Go square, every multiplier collected so far is doubled.
AI Generated
Tax squares
Income Tax and Super Tax. Landing on either takes a share off the total collected so far rather than adding to it.
AI Generated
Maximum payout
The most a casino will pay one player in one round, set by the operator and printed in the information panel. A multiplier above the cap pays the cap.
AI Generated
RTP
Return to player, the share of every stake the bet is built to return over the long run. Monopoly Live has six RTPs, one per bet, from 96.23% on the 2 to 91.30% on the 5.
AI Generated
Game show
The live-casino category Monopoly Live belongs to: a presenter, a studio and a wheel rather than a card table. Other Evolution titles in the category include Crazy Time, Funky Time and Lightning Roulette.
AI Generated
Game weighting
How much a game counts towards clearing a bonus. Live game shows are frequently weighted at 0%, which is the first thing to check before playing with an offer open.

Where to Go Next

In Short

What to Take Away

  • Monopoly Live is an Evolution money wheel with a 3D board game as its bonus round, streamed live with a presenter, and carried by every casino in our table that has Evolution in its live lobby.
  • 54 segments: a 1 on about 41% of spins, a 2 on 28%, a 5 on 13%, a 10 on 7%, Chance on 4%, and a board round on about one spin in thirteen.
  • Six different returns, from 96.23% on the 2 to 91.30% on the 5. The 1 lands most and is priced worst of the numbers; the board rounds cost about 6%.
  • Results history is not a forecast. The wheel has no memory, and no segment is ever due.
  • Monopoly Live is a game; Monopoly Casino is a separate UK casino brand. This page is about the game.
  • Check the information panel for the maximum payout your casino applies, and the bonus terms before playing with an offer open.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Monopoly Live?
Monopoly Live is a live game show made by Evolution under licence from Hasbro and streamed from its studio with a presenter. A wheel of 54 segments is spun once a round; number segments pay 1:1 to 10:1, Chance segments hand out a cash prize or a multiplier, and the 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls segments open a 3D Monopoly board where dice throws collect multipliers. It is carried by most UK casinos that offer Evolution’s live lobby.
What is the RTP of Monopoly Live?
Evolution publishes a different return for each bet. A bet on 2 returns 96.23%, on 10 96.02%, on 1 92.88% and on 5 91.30%. The 2 Rolls bet returns 93.90% and the 4 Rolls bet 93.67%. The figure usually quoted for the game, 96.23%, is the best of the six and belongs to the number 2.
What are the odds of each segment?
The wheel has 54 segments: 22 for the number 1, 15 for 2, 7 for 5, 4 for 10, 2 for Chance, 3 for 2 Rolls and 1 for 4 Rolls. So the 1 lands on about 41% of spins, the 2 on 28%, the 5 on 13%, the 10 on 7%, Chance on 4%, 2 Rolls on 6% and 4 Rolls on about 2%, or once in 54 spins.
Do Monopoly Live results, trackers or stats help?
No. Every spin is independent of the one before it, so a history of results tells you what happened and nothing about what will happen next. A 4 Rolls segment that has not landed for two hundred spins still has a one in 54 chance on the next one. The only figures that predict anything are the segment counts and the published returns on this page.
Is Monopoly Live the same as Monopoly Casino?
No. Monopoly Live is a game made by Evolution and carried in the live lobbies of many UK casinos, including every one in our table. Monopoly Casino is a separate UK-licensed casino brand with its own site and its own offers. This page is about the game; it does not review the casino brand.
Is Monopoly Live legal in the UK?
Yes. Monopoly Live is offered by UK Gambling Commission licensees through Evolution, which holds its own UKGC licence as a games supplier. Every casino in our table holds a UKGC licence, checked on the public register, and you must be 18 or over to play.
