The Verdict, Before the Detail
Virgin Games finishes 15th of the 15 UK casinos we rank. Where it is good, it is very good: apps rated 4.70 and 4.60, the best pair on our table, and a welcome offer whose spins pay out as cash.
Withdrawals are steady rather than fast: one to two days to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard or a bank, up to four to Visa.
The rest is thin. 1000+ games is the smallest lobby we rank, there is no PayPal or e-wallet, the live floor is Evolution only, and Trustpilot sits at 1.2.
Licence 38905, held by Gamesys Operations Limited. Checked on the Gambling Commission’s public register the week this review was written.
- Apps rated 4.70 on the App Store and 4.60 on Google Play, the best-rated pair on our table
- 70 free spins for a £10 deposit, with no wagering on the winnings and 30 days to use them
- Withdrawals in one to two days to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard or a bank account
- 100+ live tables from Evolution, including 31+ blackjack and 33+ game shows
- A licence held since 2014 by one of the longest-running UK casino operators
- 1000+ games, the smallest lobby on our table
- Four ways to pay in: debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, with no PayPal or e-wallets
- No live baccarat, and a live floor from one studio
- Live chat only: no email address and no phone line
- Trustpilot sits at 1.2 out of 5, among the lowest public scores on our table

The Licence, on the Register
A pass or fail, and Virgin Games passes: the licence is current on the Gambling Commission’s own register, not merely claimed in the footer.
The brand was founded in 2001 and the account is held by Gamesys Operations Limited, the Gibraltar company behind several of the UK’s best-known bingo and casino brands. The company, the licence number and the small print are set out further down.
What the Games Return
96.00% across the site is the middle of the 15 casinos we rank: it is the figure most of our table publishes.
The categories Virgin publishes sit around it: 99.60% across the blackjack, 97.30% across the roulette and 96.20% across the slots. It publishes no figures for individual titles.
What It Costs to Play
The £5 ceiling on a slot spin (£2 if you are 18 to 24) is the UK legal maximum and the same at every casino we rank.
The software tables run to £2,500 a hand on roulette and blackjack; the live floor runs from 10p to £10,000.
Getting Money Out
One to two days to Apple Pay, Google Pay, Mastercard debit or a bank account; one to four days to Visa debit.
That is steady rather than quick, with no same-day option because there is no e-wallet. Nothing is charged, and a single withdrawal can reach £250,000. What each method costs and how long it takes is below.
The Phone Experience
The strongest part of the review. One app on each store, rated 4.70 on the iPhone and 4.60 on Android, the best pair on our table. The two apps side by side are further down.
The Games
1000+ games in total, of which 900+ are slots. It is the smallest lobby on our table, and it leans on the familiar names rather than the long tail.
| Category | How many | Average RTP | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slots | 900+ | 96.20% | The bulk of the lobby |
| Roulette | 10+ | 97.30% | European wheels return 97.30% |
| Blackjack | 10+ | 99.60% | Check the rules panel: payouts vary by variant |
| Live tables | 100+ | – | 31+ blackjack, 33+ roulette, 33+ game shows |
Stakes, from the Smallest to the Largest
Virgin Games publishes its table limits. These are the ones that matter.
| Slots | £0.01 – £5 |
|---|---|
| Roulette | £0.10 – £2,500 |
| Blackjack | £0.50 – £2,500 |
| Live tables | £0.10 – £10,000 |
Slots are capped at £5 a spin (£2 if you are 18 to 24) at every UK-licensed casino since 2025, so this is not a Virgin Games decision.
The tables are not capped the same way. The live floor starts at 10p, with Marble Race the cheapest seat Virgin points to, and runs to the standard £10,000 Evolution ceiling.
The Welcome Offer
Virgin Games’ casino offer is 70 Free Spins on Big Bass Splash. Opt in before your first deposit, deposit at least £10, and stake £10 on slots.
Read the small print before you opt in. The spins are Wager-Free: what they win is paid as cash. The only play-through is your own £10, once, on slots.
The spins are worth 10p each and last 30 days, far longer than most offers on our table allow. Live games, roulette and blackjack do not count towards the £10 stake, and bingo is excluded.
Seventy spins at 10p is £7 of play with nothing to wager afterwards. Not the largest offer on our table, but a clean one, and Virgin Games is on our list of no-wagering free spins for it.
Virgin Games also runs bingo rooms with their own offers. Those are separate promotions, opted into separately.
Paying in and Getting Paid
Four ways in and five ways out, with no fees in either direction. Withdrawals take one to two days on most methods; Visa can take up to four.
| Method | Paying in | Getting paid | Minimum | Most per deposit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visa debit | Instant | 1 – 4 Days | £10 | £10,000 |
| Mastercard debit | Instant | 1 – 2 Days | £10 | £10,000 |
| Apple Pay | Instant | 1 – 2 Days | £10 | £5,000 |
| Google Pay | Instant | 1 – 2 Days | £10 | £10,000 |
Money goes back the way it came in, from a £10 minimum. Card withdrawals are capped at £25,000 each; the phone wallets and bank transfers at £250,000.
What is missing is any e-wallet. There is no PayPal, Skrill, Neteller or Trustly, so there is no route to a same-day payout.
One thing to know: under a 2019 rule Virgin Games verifies your name, address and date of birth before you can gamble, which it quotes at 12 to 48 hours. Extra checks at withdrawal are only allowed for things it could not have asked for earlier.
Credit cards cannot be used for gambling anywhere in Britain. That has been the rule since April 2020, and it is not a Virgin Games policy. Any Visa or Mastercard option above is debit only.
Who Makes the Games
Sixteen studios supply the slots, one of the shorter lists on our table, and one supplies the live floor. The names are the familiar ones.
- Blueprint Gaming and Eyecon: Fishin’ Frenzy, Fluffy Favourites and the pub-slot classics
- NetEnt and Red Tiger: Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest and the daily jackpots
- Play’n GO and Big Time Gaming: Book of Dead and the Megaways titles
- Light & Wonder, IGT and Playtech: Rainbow Riches, Cleopatra and the Age of the Gods jackpots
- Games Global, Relax Gaming and Yggdrasil: Mega Moolah and the rest of the headline names
- Evolution: all 100+ live tables, from Lightning Roulette to Crazy Time
On a Phone
This is where Virgin Games beats every other casino on our table. The app is the product: the lobby, the cashier, the live tables and the account limits all work as well on a phone as anywhere else.
There is one app on each store. The iPhone app is rated 4.70, the Android one 4.60, the best-rated pair of any casino we rank.
Both carry the casino, the live tables and the bingo rooms behind one sign-in. The iPhone app needs iOS 16 or later; the Android one Android 9.
The mobile site is the fallback on either phone: the same account and the same games in a browser, with nothing to install.
| iPhone and iPad | Android | |
|---|---|---|
| Store rating | 4.70 | 4.60 |
| Size | 55.8 MB | Not Listed |
| Needs | iOS 16.0 or later | Android 9 and up |
The ratings are close enough that the choice is your phone, not the app. If you play mostly on a phone, nothing else on our table does it better.
Getting Started
Five steps, in the order that saves the most time. None of them takes five minutes.
Check the Licence Yourself
Search 38905 on the Gambling Commission’s public register. The account belongs to Gamesys Operations Limited, and the casino line should read Active. Thirty seconds, and it is the one check no review can do on your behalf.
Register, Opt In, and Verify the Same Day
The welcome spins need an opt-in before your first deposit, and Virgin Games has to check who you are before you can gamble, so upload the documents while you are signing up.
Photograph a passport or driving licence, and a bank statement or utility bill dated inside the last three months. Virgin Games quotes 12 to 48 hours; left until later, the same check delays your first withdrawal.
Set the Deposit Limit Before the First Deposit
Account settings, then the limit you want: daily, weekly or monthly deposit limits, a time limit, and a reminder every 30 minutes of how long you have been playing.
A lower limit takes effect the moment you set it; a higher one cannot, because every UK licensee has to wait before more money can go in. Time-outs run from 24 hours, and self-exclusion up to five years.
Claim the Spins on Slots
Deposit £10 and stake it on slots. The 70 spins on Big Bass Splash follow, and you have 30 days to use them.
What they win is cash and can be withdrawn straight away.
Pick Apple Pay, Google Pay or Mastercard for the Way Out
Those three, and a bank transfer, are quoted at one to two days; Visa debit at up to four.
Money goes back the way it came in, so if speed on the way out matters to you, pay in with one of them in the first place.

If Something Goes Wrong
- First, the casino
- Live chat. Under the rules every UK licensee works to, it has eight weeks to settle a complaint.
- Then, an adjudicator
- An independent adjudicator (ADR provider) decides disputes Virgin Games cannot settle. It is independent of the casino and free to the player.
- Independently checked by
- eCOGRA
- Shutting yourself out
- GamCare, GAMSTOP. GAMSTOP blocks every UK-licensed site at once, not just this one
Public opinion is the weak spot. Virgin Games scores 1.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot, and most of what is written there is about account checks and withdrawal holds rather than the games.
Support is chat only. It runs around the clock and answers straight away, but there is no email address to write to and no phone number to ring.
If Virgin Games Is Not the One
Or start from the top: our full ranking of 15 UK casinos puts every one of them side by side on the same five checks used above.
In Short
Virgin Games has the best-rated casino app on our table, a wager-free welcome offer with a month to use it, and withdrawals in one to two days on most methods.
What keeps it at the foot of our ranking is specific: the smallest lobby we rank, four payment methods with no e-wallet, no live baccarat, chat-only support and a Trustpilot score of 1.2.
If you play on a phone and stick to the well-known slots, it does that better than anyone.
