Casino Payment Methods in the UK

Ten methods, checked against the published banking pages of the fifteen UKGC-licensed casinos we rank: which of them each casino takes, in which direction, and how long each operator says the money takes to come back.

Every method funds an account instantly. They differ on the way out. PayPal withdrawals are quoted in hours; a bank transfer can be quoted at up to ten days by the same operator.

Every casino here holds a UKGC licence, checked on the public register; limits and payout times are as each operator publishes them.

Every Payment Method, Compared

Figures from the fifteen casinos in our rankings, ordered by how many of them accept each method for deposits. The withdrawal column counts the casinos whose cashier lists the method for payouts.

Credit cards are not an option. The Gambling Commission banned gambling with credit cards in Great Britain in April 2020, and that includes a credit card sitting behind Apple Pay, Google Pay or a wallet balance. Every method above has to be funded from a debit card or a bank account.

How We Counted This

The figures above come from the published payment terms of all fifteen casinos in our rankings, recorded per method: whether it is offered for deposits, whether it is offered for withdrawals, and what the operator states as its payout time.

Two Things the Table Makes Visible

  • A method can be one-way. Paysafecard is accepted for deposits at ten of our fifteen and pays withdrawals back at four. Google Pay and Trustly are asymmetrical too, each taking deposits at one casino that will not pay back to it. It is worth deciding how you will withdraw before you deposit.
  • The spread inside one method is often wider than the gap between methods. Two casinos quote eight hours for Google Pay withdrawals while others quote four days for the same thing.

Choose a Method

Which Method Should You Use?

For the fastest withdrawal, PayPal. Ten of our fifteen accept it in both directions and operators quote eight to twenty-four hours for it, quicker than any other method. Trustly and the two e-wallets are close behind where they are offered.

For certainty, a debit card. It is the only method all fifteen take for deposits, every casino whose withdrawal list we have pays back to it, and effectively the only one never excluded from a welcome offer. The cost is speed: one to five days coming back, against hours for an e-wallet.

To keep your bank out of it, Paysafecard. A voucher bought in a shop, with no card number or sort code reaching the casino. Four of the ten casinos that accept it will also pay back to it; at the others you will need a card or a bank account for the way out, so decide that first.

To avoid opening anything new, Trustly. It runs on open banking: you authorise the payment in your own banking app, with no wallet to fund and no card details stored anywhere.

Watch the bonus terms. Skrill and Neteller deposits are excluded from a great many welcome offers; a deposit made with an excluded method does not qualify and generally cannot be reassigned afterwards. PayPal, cards and Trustly are rarely on those lists. Our guide to casino bonuses goes through the terms in full.

Please gamble responsibly. A faster withdrawal is not a reason to play more. Set your deposit limit before you start; every UKGC-licensed operator must let you. Free, independent help is at GambleAware and GamStop. 18+

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the fastest way to withdraw from a UK casino?
PayPal: the casinos in our table that support it quote eight to twenty-four hours. Neteller, Skrill and Trustly return money within about a day where they are offered. A debit card takes one to five days and a bank transfer one to ten, because both have to travel through a banking settlement system.
Can I use a credit card to gamble in the UK?
No. The Gambling Commission banned credit-card gambling in Great Britain in April 2020, and the ban reaches through wallets too: a credit card sitting behind Apple Pay, Google Pay or a PayPal balance cannot be used either. Every method on this page has to be funded from a debit card or a bank account.
Why can I deposit with a method but not withdraw to it?
Sometimes the method cannot receive money at all: a Paysafecard voucher is spent and gone, which is why only four of the ten casinos that take it pay back to it. Sometimes the operator simply has not enabled it, which is the case for Google Pay and Trustly at one of our fifteen each. Either way, check the withdrawal list in the cashier before you fund the account.
Do UK casinos charge fees for deposits or withdrawals?
None of the casinos in our rankings charges for any method, in either direction. Where a cost appears it comes from the payment company, not the casino: Skrill, Neteller and MuchBetter all charge to move a balance out of the wallet to a bank account, and currency conversion is charged separately again.
Why is my withdrawal taking longer than the stated time?
Usually because identity verification has not been completed. Every UKGC-licensed casino must confirm who you are before you can gamble; extra checks at withdrawal are only allowed for things it could not have asked for earlier. Uploading documents on the day you register removes the single largest delay. After that the operator's own approval window applies, whatever the payment method.
